This is me. I am an over the road trucker who drives an 18-wheel chemical tanker semi truck throughout the US and Canada. Finding myself doing more waiting than driving sometimes, I occupy myself with my laptop writing small programs that are usually only useful to me. Actually, I have been playing around with this stuff for about 30 years. The first computer program I ever wrote was in junior college in the late 70's. It was in Fortran 4 and it was run on an IBM 370.

Anyway, I enjoy what I do as it affords me plenty of quiet time to just think. Of course, one more advantage is that even though I have more bosses than I can count, at least they are all hundreds of miles away. All I need to do is go where that Qualcom device mounted in my truck tells me to go and no one will bother me. It's not a bad life but I am away from family and friends more than I would like to be. So if you find yourself behind a big slow tanker truck, you just might be right behind me. I might be slow but I always find myself at the front of the line.
