This is version V1.16.3 of nüvi editor. It has been tested with a nüvi 660. Some of the nüvi’s work differently and format text differently. Give the program a try and please get back to me and let me know how it is working out for you. Please tell me what model nüvi you have so that I can improve this program. If you have any problems with it let me know about that as well. Nüvi editor requires .net framework 3.5

  • V1.10 - Added ability to import/export .csv files. Added ability to view/edit 'Description' field.
  • V1.04 - Replaced symbols textbox with drop-down list instead. Made some changes for symbols drop-box to work correctly with Windows XP. Made minor corrections to GeoCoder concerning European addresses.
  • V1.03 - Included coding to allow for Regional Settings. Minor correction to GeoCoder country information. Backups of rewritten.gpx files now saved in a separate backup folder.
  • V1.02 - Repaired State input to hold only two characters. When re-saving a file, the original file will be automatically backed up first.
  • V1.01 - Fixed Name of waypoint not changing when edited. Removed Ctl-X Exit. Made changes in xml data sent to GPS. Nüvi Editor no longer strips out the desc and cmt fields from files created by other programs.

Check to see if you have already have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 installed.

Copy the line below;

Open your Command Prompt in admin mode (use Run As Administrator option).

Right click at the prompt. Select Paste. Press Enter

If you HAVE Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 you should see the following results;

Note: Version REG_SZ 3.5.30729.01. As of August 2008 this is Version 3.5 SP1.

Of course you could have just checked Control Panel > Programs and Features (Vista) for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (XP), but where's the fun in that?
